Supporting details -
One conclusion a reader can draw from this selection is that comparing children/teenagers to dogs and cats can be helpful to parents and why that is true is because of these two details to support it:
1. Paragraph 6, sentence 1 says "Instead of continuing to act like a dog owner, you can learn to behave like a cat owner." Which would influence the parent reader to do so.
2. In paragraph 6, sentence 2, it shows ways to learn to behave like a cat owner by saying, "Put a dish of food near the door, and let it come to you. But remember that a cat needs your help and your affection too." Which would also teach the parent reader also.

Summarize -
When your children grow up to be a teenager you should give them space and time so they won't want to rub from you all the time. The less space you give the more attention they want. You can't keep treating them like a child when they're growing up. They'll ignore you, treat you differently, and most likey start to dislike you. For example, in paragraph 7 it states that if you leave your 'cat' alone they'll start to notice you. So that's what he/she did and he cat went back to them to help out with the dishes and and slowly start to appreciate you more often. Alos, don't keep telling your cat what to do. They hate that. They want to be free, be themelves, do what they want. If you tell them what to do more and more they'll get annoyed then never listen to you. They just need some alone time with there new selves. Always let your cat think on it's own. Let it express it's self, think on their own, let them have their own ideas. They'll eventually learn right from wrong on their own. Then your mission will be accomplished.

“Hey, Jesse, look at that,” giggled William Waggish, pleased with their poetic efforts and their effect on the teachers.  “These teachers are eerie!  Maybe my friends and I are wrong and this year will be fun after all.”
Sam Sagacious just made a further notation in his pocket notebook.
eerie approximately equal to strange

Jesse Jocose queried with a grin as they stepped into the room of the slightly smoking teacher, “I wonder what makes them do that?”
Just then they spied Felicia Fey in her newly purpled hair.
