Day Forty-One - Forty-Three

Block 1 and 2 - periods 1&2 and 4&5 - English Language Arts and U.S. History/Social Studies

Texts - Write Source & America History of Our Nation (new, yellow and red, on table in front of room

Attendance - see sheets with ancient photos of kids - Dusti Baker blk 1, Cassie Neil blk 2 can do it if you want.

DOL - see below - answer book is called Giggles in the Middle starting on page 141
A few extras also. No analogies - do two dol’s  a day if desired
23.  muffle glowered swiveled
Jesse Jocose pointed to that teacher with his one hand and held the other over his mouth to muffle his giggles. The other teachers turned and glowered at him as students swiveled their heads in the direction Jesse pointed.

Only the teacher with the pink flower in her hair and the paint on her shirt smiled at the strange phenomenon of her eye-fluttering, ear-smoking, tongue-sticking-out colleague. She, somehow was different like a cool glacier breeze in a hot classroom.

After that incident, everyone quieted down, turned his or her face towards the stage, and paid heed to Mr. Punctilious Principal as he instructed students on where to go and what to do next.
“I hope my friends and I are in the same homeroom,” whispered Isabelle Ingenuous to her two friends Olivia Otiose and Pauline Puerile.


26.  striplings
finally the assembly was over and teachers filed out directed the striplings to the homeroom lists on the walls of the sixth grade hall and then pointed the various classrooms out


27.  intrepid stern martinet
the intrepid group who had begun their first day of school together found themselves in the same homeroom.  there teacher was a very stern looking man mr math martinet  who promptly announced that he was also their math teacher  

Write Source - continue from page 501 working with sentences - read all instructions and Try IT material aloud (you and/or selected students) and corrections after a suitable period of time for them to complete the activity.

America History of Our Nation -  Unit 1 Chapter 1 sections 1, 2, 3 and 4 (we just got the books)
Blk 1 has done pages 1- 5 but just start again on page 1 - check out the teacher’s edition for suggestions to expand on the material a bit. If you finish the above check the Historian’s Apprentice and other end-of-chapter material on pages 28-31.
Make sure the books are treated nicely.




SSR - as you know sustained silent reading is right after lunch (10:35 - 11:15)
The apprenticeship coordinator wants to use part of ssr to have her kids do some presentations to Blk 2 students today Wednesday so be on the look-out for that.

we are on page 58 - Unit 1 “Origins”
